Start of the world's longest certified road race in 2006 https://video.ckg.re/videos/watch/d22af4a5-b2dc-4949-b878-bca35a6dca89 On a cool 11 June morning in 2006, the world's longest foot race started in New York City in the presence of the spiritual teacher Sri Chinmoy, founder of the race. A record 15 runners from 10 countries entered the event, which is being held for the tenth time. Participants have 52 days to complete the distance. Circling a large city block in the borough Queens, they can run from 6 in the morning until midnight each night. World record holder for the event, Madhupran Wolfgang Schwerk, has entered once again promising that this will be his last race. Two other previous winners are also participating. For all who finish, just to complete the 3100 mile distance is an incredible achievement.
